Old set of Atsu nomi. framer chisels with thick neck and blade. Beautiful set which arrived in the old original but unfortunately very tatty wooden box which I will send to the new owner. It arrived in pretty bad shape, badly set up, badly stored and badly sharpened. It turned out to be a pleasure to work on these! The old soft iron makes it easy to sharpen together with a beautifully forged carbon steel. lovely lamination. The bevels were all over the place so I straightened all of them and set them to 25°. I flattened the backs as much as I thought it was necessary without ruining the hollow. There is no major rust of pitting, the handles are original and firm. I’ll be sad to see this one go! Absolutely gorgeous! Sizes of the chisels are 15, 24, 30, 36, 42 and 48mm with a length ranging from 255 to 295mm.
