Description
Beautiful old atsu nomi, rare kaku-uchi type. A hefty chisel for removal of large amounts of stock and morticing in larger joinery. Unknown brand as I can’t read the kanji, in good conditions considering these tools are abused, the white oak handle was replaced but the ferrule and hoop are original, there is no major rust, some light pitting, it cleaned up exceptionally well considering the conditions it arrived. The ura has retained its shape which is nice to see. Lovely straight lamination and easy to sharpen. Overall a lovely rare tool.
