Description
Lovely old kirimen kanna. It has an adjustment system via two square pegs fitted across the two guides and using friction to stay in place. Usually adjusted tapping the extremities of the pegs. This one has some interesting features. The sole of the dai has a groove to allow for stopped chamfers in both directions. This brings the mouth of the dai to be too wide. This dai is fitted with a brass plate which allows to widen and narrow the mouth as needed. Although a little more fiddly to adjust, these kannas are lovely to use and feel lighter and more comfortable than the ones with metal adjusters. I have a few of these in different sizes and I love them.
210mm overall length.
it will need sharpening, but the dai is nice and tight and in my opinion needs nothing done to it.
