15mm kote nomi cranked neck chisel by Kiyotada

Another beautiful chisel from a lot I recently imported from Japan. Made by Kosaburo Shimamura (Kiyotada), it is everything you’d expect from a tool made by possibly the best Japanese chisels smith ever. Beautifully forged and finished, this lovely shaped tool has been used and loved by its previous owner, no rust or major pitting, short blade and no ura it’s pretty much the only thing “wrong” with this otherwise masterpiece. These tools are getting rarer and one in perfect condition would be snatched by collectors at a hefty price tag. A rare opportunity to buy a user at a reasonable price. It has plenty of life left in it and all it needs is a good sharpening.
